EPHESIANS 4:26-27 NASB
26 Be angry and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and do not give the devil an opportunity.
1. The Wrong Anger for the Wrong Reason.
JAMES 4:1-2
1 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so
you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight.
a] We’re angry because we didn’t get what we wanted.
b] We’re angry because of our pride.
GENESIS 4:2-5
2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. 3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD. 4 And Abel also brought an offering - fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.

PSALM 7:11
‘God is a righteous judge, a God who expresses his wrath every day.’
b] We’re angry for others.
EXODUS 22:21-27
21 “Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt. 22 “Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless. 23 If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry. 24 My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless. 25 “If you lend money to one of my people among you who is needy, do not treat it like a business deal; charge no interest. 26 If you take your neighbor’s cloak as a pledge, return it by sunset, 27 because that cloak is the only covering your neighbor has. What else can they sleep in? When they cry out to me, I will hear, for I am compassionate.
PSALM 139:19-22
19 If only you, God, would slay the wicked! Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty! 20 They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name. 21 Do I not hate those who hate you, LORD, and abhor those who are in rebellion against you? 22 I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies.
