1.THE HISTORY.
PSALM 126:1
1 When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who
dreamed.JEREMIAH 25:2-6
2 Jeremiah the prophet said to all the people of Judah and to all those living
in Jerusalem: 3 For twenty-three years - from the thirteenth year of Josiah
son of Amon king of Judah until this very day - the word of the LORD has
come to me and I have spoken to you again and again, but you have not
listened. 4 And though the LORD has sent all his servants the prophets to
you again and again, you have not listened or paid any attention. 5 They
said, “Turn now, each of you, from your evil ways and your evil practices,
and you can stay in the land the LORD gave to you and your ancestors for
ever and ever. 6 Do not follow other gods to serve and worship them; do
not arouse my anger with what your hands have made. Then I will not harm
you.”JEREMIAH 25:7-11
7 “But you did not listen to me,” declares the LORD, “and you have
aroused my anger with what your hands have made, and you have brought
harm to yourselves.” 8 Therefore the LORD Almighty says this: “Because
you have not listened to my words, 9 I will summon all the peoples of the
north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon,” declares the
LORD, “and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and
against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them and
make them an object of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin. 10 I will
banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and
bridegroom, the sound of millstones and the light of the lamp. 11 This
whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will
serve the king of Babylon seventy years.REVELATION 2:18-23
18 “To the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These are the words of the Son
of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished
bronze. 19 I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and
perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.
20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who
calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual
immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. 21 I have given her time to
repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. 22 So I will cast her on a bed of
suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely,
unless they repent of her ways. 23 I will strike her children dead. Then all the
churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay
each of you according to your deeds.

2. THE POSSIBILITY.
PSALM 126:1-3
1 When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who
dreamed. 1 When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like
those who dreamed. 2 Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues
with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has
done great things for them.” 3 The LORD has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.PSALM 126:4-6
4 Restore our fortunes, LORD, like streams in the Negev. 5 Those who
sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. 6 Those who go out weeping,
carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves
with them.JEREMIAH 29:10-14
10 This is what the LORD says: “When seventy years are completed for
Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to
this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then
you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You
will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be
found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity. I
will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,”
declares the LORD, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried
you into exile.”
