COLOSSIANS 3:1-4
1 Since you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things
above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your
minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and
your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is
your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.ISAIAH 9:6-7
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will
be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the greatness of
his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on
David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal
of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
WHEN JESUS COMES BACK
1. Jesus will come PERSONALLY.
ACTS 1:9-11
9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a
cloud hid him from their sight. 10 They were looking intently up
into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in
white stood beside them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do
you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has
been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way
you have seen him go into heaven.”
2. Jesus will come VISIBLY.
REVELATION 1:7-8
7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn
because of him.” So shall it be! Amen. 8 “I am the Alpha and the
Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to
come, the Almighty.”ZECHARIAH 14:2-5
2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be
captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into
exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city. 3 Then the LORD
will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle. 4 On that
day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of
Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the
mountain moving north and half moving south. 5 You will flee by my mountain
valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in
the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the
holy ones with him.MATTHEW 24:29-30
29 Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be
darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall
from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. 30 Then will
appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the
peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man
coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.
3. Jesus will come GLORIOUSLY.
4. Jesus will come VICTORIOUSLY.
REVELATION 19:11-14
11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse,
whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages
war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns.
He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is
dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.
14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and
dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
5. Jesus will come JUDICIALLY.
REVELATION 19:15-18
15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down
the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the
winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and
on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD
OF LORDS. 17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a
loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the
great supper of God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals,
and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free
and slave, great and small.”
