1 CORINTHIANS 11:23-26
23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The
Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he
had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for
you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper
he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood;
do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For
whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the
Lord’s death until he comes.MATTHEW 24:21-22
21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of
the world until now - and never to be equaled again. 22 “If those days
had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the
elect those days will be shortened.MATTHEW 24:23-25
23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’
or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false
prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to
deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of
time.2 THESSALONIANS 2:1-4
1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to
him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or
alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us - whether by a prophecy or by word
of mouth or by letter - asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.
3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the
rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to
destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is
called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple,
proclaiming himself to be God.2 THESSALONIANS 2:5-8
5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things?
6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at
the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the
one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will
overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his
coming.2 THESSALONIANS 2:9-12
9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works.
He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve
the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing.
They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this
reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie
12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have
delighted in wickedness.MATTHEW 24:29-30
29 Immediately after the distress of those days ‘the sun will be
darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall
from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ 30 “Then will
appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the
peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man
coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.REVELATION 19:11-15
11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse,
whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and
wages war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many
crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he
himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is
the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding
on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Coming
out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the
nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the
winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.REVELATION 19:16-19
16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF
KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. 17 And I saw an angel standing in
the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair,
“Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18 so that you
may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and
their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and
small.” 19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their
armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse
and his army.REVELATION 19:20-21
20 But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had
performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded
those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its
image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of
burning sulfur. 21 The rest were killed with the sword coming out of
the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged
themselves on their flesh.REVELATION 20:1-5
1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the
Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that
ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand
years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to
keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were
ended. 4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given
authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded
because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God.
They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark
on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a
thousand years.DANIEL 2:44-45
44 “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom
that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will
crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself
endure forever. 45 This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of
a mountain, but not by human hands - a rock that broke the iron, the
bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces.
WHEN JESUS COMES BACK
- The King is coming who will set all things right.
- The King is coming who will bring about the fulness
of our hope of salvation.
- It means your hard times won’t last a
long time. - It means your hope and joy are not dependent on
what happens in this world. - It means the hurt of present suffering is far outweighed
by the hope of future glory.
