GENESIS 8:22
As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest,
cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will
never cease.ECCLESIASTES 3:1-8
1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the
heavens: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to
uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to
build, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to
dance, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to
embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, 6 a time to search and a time
to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, 7 a time to tear and a
time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,8 a time to love and a
time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
1) Changeability creates Uncertainty.
JAMES 4:13-14
13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to
this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make
money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen
tomorrow.HEBREWS 1:10-12
10In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the
heavens are the work of your hands. 11 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment. 12 You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your
years will never end.MALACHI 3:6
‘I the LORD do not change’.
JAMES 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father
of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.HEBREWS 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
2) Unchangeability insures Certainty.
a) The unchangeability of God insures the
certainty of His love.
b) The unchangeability of God insures stability
in our life.
c) The unchangeability of God insures the
certainty of our hope.
HEBREWS 6:13-19
13 When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater
for him to swear by, he swore by himself, 14 saying, “I will surely bless you
and give you many descendants.” 15 And so after waiting patiently, Abraham
received what was promised. 16 People swear by someone greater than
themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all
argument. 17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his
purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an
oath. 18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is
impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set
before us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for
the soul, firm and secure.1 JOHN 5:11-1311
God has given us eternal life, and this life is in
his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have
the Son of God does not have life. 13 I write these things to you
who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know
that you have eternal life.
