HEBREWS 12:25-29 NLT
25 Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For
if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the
earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks
to us from heaven! 26 When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the
earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only
the earth but the heavens also.” 27 This means that all of creation will be
shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain. 28 Since we are
receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by
worshiping him with holy fear and awe. 29 For our God is a devouring fire.
1. Earthquakes is GOD’S DOING.
GENESIS 7:11-12
‘In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of
the second month - on that day all the springs of the great deep
burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. 12 And
rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights’.ROMANS 8:28-30 NASB
28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for
good to those who love God, to those who are called according
to His purpose.
2. Earthquakes is GOD SIFTING.
HEBREWS 12:27-28 NLT
27 This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only
unshakable things will remain. 28 Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is
unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear
and awe.
3. Earthquakes is GOD JUDGING.
NAHUM 1:5-6
5 The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. The earth
trembles at his presence, the world and all who live in it. 6 Who can
withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is
poured out like fire; the rocks are shattered before him.PSALM 18:7- 8
7 The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains
shook; they trembled because he was angry. 8 Smoke rose from his nostrils;
consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.ISAIAH 13:13
13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from
its place at the wrath of the LORD Almighty, in the day of his burning
anger.HEBREWS 12:26-29 NLT

12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun
turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,
13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken
by a strong wind. 14 The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every
mountain and island was removed from its place.REVELATION 16:17-21
17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple
came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 Then there came
flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No
earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth, so
tremendous was the quake. 19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities
of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the
cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath. 20 Every island fled away and
the mountains could not be found. 21 From the sky huge hailstones, each
weighing about a hundred pounds, fell on people. And they cursed God on
account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.
