PHILIPPIANS 4:10-14
10 I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for
me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it.
11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be
content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and
I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content
in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in
plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

15 Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your
acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one
church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you
only; 16 for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than
once when I was in need. 17 Not that I desire your gifts…
2 CORINTHIANS 8:1-4
1 And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that
God has given the Macedonian churches. 2 In the midst of a very severe
trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich
generosity. 3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and
even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded
with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people.
PHILIPPIANS 4:18
18 I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply
supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent.
They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
1. GIVING IS LOVING.
2. GIVING IS RECEIVING.
3. GIVING IS INVESTING.
PHILIPPIANS 4:17
17 Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to
your account.
1 TIMOTHY 6:17-19
17 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor
to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in
God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous
and willing to share. 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves
as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the
life that is truly life.
LUKE 12:13-18
13 Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the
inheritance with me.” 14 Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed me a judge or
an arbiter between you?” 15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your
guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of
possessions.” 16 And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain
rich man yielded an abundant harvest. 17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall
I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ 18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll
do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store
my surplus grain.
LUKE 12:19-21
19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many
years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” 20 “But God said to him,
‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then
who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ 21 “This is how it will
be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward
God.”
4. GIVING IS TRUSTING.

19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
