WHY WE PRAY:

a) Because we believe in the living God.

b) Because we believe that God answers our prayers.

MATTHEW 7:7- 8
7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock
and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks
receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

c) Because we believe that we need God.

JOHN 14:13-14
13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father
may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in
my name, and I will do it.

TO PRAY IN JESUS NAME:

1. Is to confess that Jesus is the only way to God.

2. Is to pray in the authority of Jesus.

3. Is to admit there is no power to answer your prayers but the power of the name of Jesus.

4. Is to pray according to His will.

1 JOHN 5:14-15
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we
ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we
know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him.

5. Is asking that God may be glorified through the answer to your prayers.

HOW GOD ANSWERS PRAYER:

1. Direct.

2. Delayed.

3. Different.

4. Denial.
