1 PETER 2:2-3
2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your
salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
EPHESIANS 4:11-15
11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the
pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the
body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in
the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the
whole measure of the fullness of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be
infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by
every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their
deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to
become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is,
Christ.MARK 10:13-15
13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to
place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked
them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said
to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not
hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as
these. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the
kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16
And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on
them and blessed them.1 CORINTHIANS 13:11
11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I
thought like a child, I reasoned like a child;
when I became an adult, I put an end to
childish ways.
CHILDISH BEHAVIORS THAT WE SHOULDN’T HAVE
a) You want to be the centre of attention.
MATTHEW 6:1-4
1 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be
seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in
heaven. 2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with
trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to
be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward
in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand
know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in
secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in
secret, will reward you.
MATTHEW 6:5-6
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to
pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by
others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But
when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your
Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in
secret, will reward you.PHILIPPIANS 2:3-4
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in
humility value others above yourselves. 4Let each of you look
out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of
others.
b) You speak about wanting and getting what you want.
