MATTHEW 7:15-20
15 Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing,
but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will
recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from
thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree
bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree
cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut
down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will
recognize them.
GALATIANS 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control.

2 CORINTHIANS 1:8-11
8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about
the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under
great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we
despaired of life itself. 9 Indeed, we felt we had received the
sentence of death.
1. Pressure measures the level of our maturity.
2 CORINTHIANS 4:8-9
8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed,
but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down,
but not destroyed.
2. Pressure moves us to a higher level of maturity.
But this happened that we might not rely on
ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us
from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we
have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us.
